With over a decade in the medical device sector, I, Alexandre Barros, have dedicated myself to the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and healthcare. As the CEO and co-founder of Hydrumedical S.A., I’ve been at the forefront of developing devices for interventional urology, stoma care, and orthopedics, particularly in sports medicine. My commitment to advancing healthcare solutions led me to also helm Bioceramed S.A., a Hydrumedical company. Specializing in orthobiologics, Bioceramed is transforming bone regeneration with calcium phosphate substitutes, reaching patients in over 50 countries. 

Beyond leading companies, I steer AB Healthcare Consulting, focusing on IP strategy, licensing, M&A, and market entry tactics. My role as IP and innovation manager at the 3B’s Research Group, University of Minho, underscores my passion for bridging research with real-world applications in biomaterials and biodegradables. 

Educationally, I hold a Ph.D. in regenerative medicine and a master’s in polymer properties and technology, both from the University of Minho. My pursuit of knowledge continued with an MBA in innovation from WU Executive Academy, Vienna, and a post-graduate course in Mergers and Acquisitions at Imperial College Business School, London. I’m currently enhancing my expertise with an IP valuation certificate at CEIPI, University of Strasbourg.
