Amaia Iribar Zabala is a researcher in the Digital Health and Biomedical Technologies department at Vicomtech. Amaia graduated in Biomedical Engineering in 2018 from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. In 2019, she obtained a Research Master’s degree in Medical Robotics and Interventional Image Guidance at Imperial College London, London, UK. Amaia has participated in several research projects related to surgical planning and guidance, surgical robotics, rapid prototyping and AR-guided surgeries. Since October 2019 she is part of the Vicomtech team, focusing her focus on the development of new technologies for medical robotics systems and computer-assisted surgery. He is currently doing his PhD thesis in conjunction with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, under the direction of Prof. Javier Pascau and Dr. Mónica García Sevilla, in the field of digital twins and AR for surgical assistance.
