Andrea Lorenz got her PhD in Mechanical Enginieering from TU Vienna. She has found her way into the biomedical field during her PostDoc in the Biomechanical Lab at the Orthopaedic University Hospital in Tübingen, Germany, followed by a PostDoc at TU Vienna in computational biomechanics. For the last five years, she has now been the head of anatomical models at the Austrian Centre of Medical Innovations and Technology (ACMIT Gmbh), responsible for the development of functional anatomical models from medical device development to surgical training, including the exploration of new technologies like silicone and multi-material 3D-printing.
